By using Earth Explorer: Kids Atlas ("the app") you agree to these terms. The app is published by Revan Wabale ("we", "us"). If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
The app is designed for children of roughly six to eleven. If you are a parent, guardian or teacher setting it up, you accept these terms on behalf of the child using it, and you are responsible for supervising that use — including any purchase and any use of Ask Kore.
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app on devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service. You may not copy, resell, reverse-engineer, or attempt to extract the app's credentials or content, except where such a restriction is prohibited by law.
Ask Kore produces answers using a large language model (Google Gemini, via Google Cloud Vertex AI). These answers are generated automatically. They are not reviewed by a person before your child sees them, and despite safety filtering and a system prompt written for children they may sometimes be inaccurate, incomplete, out of date, or not what you would have said yourself.
The app is for curiosity and play. It is not a source of authoritative educational, factual, medical, legal, safety or navigational information and should not be relied on as one. Please supervise your child's use, and treat anything surprising as a prompt for a conversation rather than as fact. If an answer troubles you, please tell us at revanwabale@gmail.com.
The model behind Ask Kore is Google Gemini, running on Google Cloud Vertex AI. We do not build, train or host the model, and we cannot inspect or change how it produces a particular answer. Two sets of rules therefore apply on top of these terms:
We chose Vertex AI over the consumer Gemini service specifically because of the data-handling commitments above. If Google changes those terms or that policy, the change applies to Ask Kore too, and we will update this page.
We apply the strictest available safety settings, constrain the model with a system prompt written for young children, cap answers at about two short sentences, and keep Ask Kore switched off until a grown-up enables it behind a gate. No filter is perfect, and neither we nor Google promise that every answer will be suitable for every child — which is why supervision matters.
Ask Kore has a daily question limit, and we apply further limits on our server to keep costs predictable and prevent abuse. Flying down to a place, the sharper zoomed imagery, today's clouds and Ask Kore all require an internet connection and depend on services operated by Apple, NASA and Google. Those services may change or become unavailable, and features that depend on them may stop working. We may change, suspend or discontinue any feature.
Do not use the app to attempt to extract its credentials, to send automated or bulk requests, to probe or overload our server, or to try to make the model produce content that is unlawful or unsuitable for children. We may block access that does any of these.
The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising out of your use of or inability to use the app — including any reliance on an answer generated by Ask Kore. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the app and its purchases in the twelve months before the claim.
Ask Kore's answers are produced by a third-party model we do not build, train or control (see section 4). We are not liable for the content of an individual generated answer beyond the duties we do accept: choosing a service with the data-handling commitments described above, applying the strictest available safety settings, keeping the feature off until a grown-up turns it on, and acting on reports of unsuitable answers.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or under mandatory consumer-protection law. You may have rights under the consumer law of your own country that these terms do not affect, and where those rights conflict with anything here, those rights prevail.
These terms are between you and us, not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content and has no obligation to provide support for it. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price.
Our Privacy Policy explains what the app does and does not collect. It forms part of these terms.
We may update these terms; the date above shows when they last changed. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept it. These terms are governed by the laws of Japan, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory consumer-protection law in your country of residence applies instead.
